The iPhone update soon and if you decide to upgrade to a new model, you are tend to sell the old one. If you are planning to sell your iPhone, you should notice several things before you sell it.
1.Back up your iPhone
Backup your data on iPhone should be a regular thing. But as long as you are planning to sell your iPhone, you should back up your iPhone. All your personal data store on your iPhone. As you want to sell your iPhone, you should delete all the data on iPhone. Back up all the data enables you to use them on your new iPhone. You can choose to back up your iPhone to iCloud account or iTunes. With the backups, you can restore your data to new device as long as you have the account. You should check your iCloud or iTunes account to make sure that you have successfully backed up your iPhone. Before you restore your data to new iPhone, you should not delete your iTunes backup from your computer.
2. Erase all your data on iPhone
You should restore your iPhone to factory settings by erasing all your data on iPhone.
After you have backed up your iPhone, you should wipe all the data on your iPhone.
Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Content and Settings, tap on Erase iPhone and confirm it.
Enter the passcode and your Apple ID password to turn off activate lock and remove this device from Find My iPhone.
How to transfer your iPhone data to new device?
You can transfer your old iPhone data to a new iOS device with the iCloud or iTunes backup.
First, you need to pair your new device with iCloud or iTunes.
Transfer data from iCloud
Connect your new iPhone with network. Start from the welcome screen to set up your iPhone until you see Apps&Data screen. Tap on Restore from iCloud Backup.
Sign in with your Apple ID and password. Then you are able to see your recent backups.
Choose the backup you need to transfer. Your iPhone will automatically download that backup from your iCloud account. Finally you will see all the settings and data on your new iPhone.
Transfer data from iTunes
iTunes backup stores on your computer. With the backup, you can restore your backup at any time.
Run iTunes on your computer and sign in with your Apple ID.
Connect your iPhone with computer.
Click File>Devices>Restore from Backup, then choose the backup which you need to restore, click “Restore” button.
